Reviews for LITTLE SHIPS, RAMSGATE

I went to little ships yesterday with my mum and 5 year old son. The meal was very expensive but delicious so I didn't mind. However they did not have a children's menu. So, I ordered my son a egg and a sausage. When we got the bill they charged £3 for the egg, which my little boy didn't eat as it was covered in pepper and £4.50 for the sausage. This was a complete rip off.... I should of known as when I visited prior for breakfast, it cost £60 and I was charged for mustard. The food is lovely but very over priced.

There wasn’t much open so we didn’t have much choice. Gave those places a try. OK but very expensive £5.95 for hot chocolate and £14 for poached eggs and bacon on toast. I know people have to make money but seems a bit extreme.

Exceptionally Good!! I visited on a Saturday for a lovely lunch with my amazing girlfriend. We were so pleased with the delicious food and wonderful service. The croquettas and salmon were stand out and the roast cauliflower was cooked to perfection. We booked the table in the window on one of the sunniest days so far, perfect for watching the world go by. Definitely recommending this to all of our friends and we will be back as soon as we can. Thanks!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Little Ships restaurant in Ramsgate, and I must say that it was an outstanding experience. From start to finish, everything was exceptional👌🏽 The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, with a warm and welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The decor is charming and rustic, with a nod to the nautical heritage of Ramsgate, which adds to the overall charm. The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavour and made with the freshest, highest quality ingredients. Whether it was the perfectly cooked seafood or the succulent meat dishes, every bite was a delight. What really sets Little Ships apart, however, is the service. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, without ever being overbearing. They went out of their way to ensure that we had an amazing dining experience, and it truly showed. Overall, I cannot recommend Little Ships highly enough. If you're looking for a fantastic meal in Ramsgate, this is the place to go. The food, service and atmosphere are all top-notch👏🏼 Thanks to the team at Little Ships for an unforgettable evening!

I've marked it at 3 stars for atmosphere purely as there were so few people in at the time we went. However, the view a cross the harbour is stunning & deserves 10 stars.

It’s safe to say that this was the worst brunch experience in my life. I don’t normally leave bad reviews for independent small businesses, but this is so outrageous that I went through the effort to register and leave a review. So obviously it’s eye watering expensive as per other reviews. But it’s not just expensive, it’s absolute rip off because food is mediocre at best and coffee is just appallingly bad. Mocha was £5.50 per cup and you’d expect at least real whipped cream and some chocolate for that price tag. Nope, wrong. All you get is the most basic beano cafe style latte with some chocolate powder in it and some pathetic looking froth at the top. Cherry on the top is the cutlery that compliments this concoction which is the most embarrassing element of it - the cheapest ugliest Poundland value style teaspoon. It’s just morally bankrupt to charge £5.50 for a coffee and give 10p teaspoon with it? Then breakfast itself. Where do I start? So it’s £16.50 and for that you get one sausage (why only one for that price?), stale mushroom, also one piece, (fresh mushrooms do not taste like mine did), tiny piece of bacon, hashbrown, sourdough toast and poached eggs. The concept of poached eggs completely eluded the chef because we were a big group and people next to me all had poached eggs, and all the eggs I saw, which was 8 to be precise, were all either over cooked or severely over cooked. What’s the point in offering poached eggs if you can’t make them? Proof pic attached. Eggs Benedict sauce was very poor effort as it was mainly lemon tasting. Muffins were cheap and nothing artisan about them. Extra avocado was eye watering + £4.50 surcharge and it wasn’t even one full avocado there, half at best. Just shocking how bad it was. Tables we sat at were just awful quality. These tacky laminated table tops and all different heights when joined together, which is fine if it’s a greasy spoon environment, but totally unacceptable when you are charging over £20 per meal & coffee. Don’t bother if you have kids either. Sparkling elderflower drink, which is bog standard kingsdown brand, is a whooping £5.50 each, even though they are £3.50 anywhere else, even in fancy restaurant which this one, I repeat, this one is most certainly not. Child’s toast, beans and overcooked eggs was £12. I actually asked fried eggs with her toast, but that was too difficult to remember, as we got poached instead. Waiter didn’t smile once, never been asked if we wanted more drinks, sugar on offer was in those little paper packets (mismatched and different brands, bookers buy no doubt) and everything was a bit like you find in a greasy spoon in the middle of Blackpool, except it wasn’t. Brunch with one drink each and one meal each for a family of 3 was £60. What a waste of money! I will make sure I never come back and tell others to avoid like the plague. It was on a Saturday morning, so I couldn't be bothered to complain as there were a few of us, but everyone felt the same. Awful!

The decor inside is brilliant; it manages to be both classy and make you feel right at home. The staff are likewise friendly courteous and efficient. However the food...it's good certainly but not nearly as much as you would expect from the price point. I had a better experience with the crushed avocado I had for breakfast than the seafood I had for dinner on a different day but even then the coffee was below mediocre. I had higher expectations overall.

Anniversary Sunday lunch delivery. Great quality food cooked to perfection. Delivered on time and packaged safely. Winter Feast menu and choose the 12 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder - lovely. Can't wait for reopening to have the eat in experience.

Fantastic food and great vibe, we had a lovely meal at this restaurant. Food was all very delicious and the portions were generous so fair pricing. We came on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was at almost full capacity but we managed to be seated as walk-ins. Tables were socially distanced and cleaned between each use. My only complaint would be that service was a little slow so don’t expect to have a quick dinner!
